Treechild
@treechildartTreechild is the artistic pseudonym of Nina, a self-taught German digital artist. The daughter of a Berlin painter and an interior decorator, she grew up with an eye for composition, colour and design, and today works from Hesse with her family.
Her vibrant, contemporary work hangs in homes and commercial spaces around the world. It has appeared in magazines and on Dutch and American interior design television, and her clients include Tchibo, OTTO, Walmart and IKEA.
Why it belongs in wool
Treechild draws faces as bold shapes and confident lines: a cheek becomes a circle of colour, a profile a single continuous stroke. Those clean outlines are exactly where a carved edge sits in wool, and her flat, warm colour fields become raised blocks of pile. In tufting, her graphic portraits gain the one thing a screen can’t give them: depth you can feel.
