Isabelle Breitkopf
Isabelle Breitkopf was born on January 28, 1990, in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and lives and works in Mainz, Germany. Her abstract paintings move between soft color and joyful, saturated passages, bringing complex structures into expressive, flowing compositions. She works with the canvas on the floor, building acrylic layers with rags, sponges, palette knives, paint rollers and everyday objects.
She finds inspiration in her daily surroundings and gives each work a humorous title drawn from pop culture or media quotes. These familiar references open a way into abstract art, making it feel approachable. Above all, she wants her paintings to offer happiness and joy: a small island of happiness, even in difficult times.
